Natalie Bess selected as the new Deputy County Manager

Eric Evans, Edgecombe County Manager, is happy to announce the selection of Natalie Bess as the County’s new Deputy County Manager. In this role, she will work closely with the County Manager in directing special projects, implementing strategic organizational improvements, and directly supervising some departments.

Mrs. Bess previously served as the County’s Disaster Recovery Director, before leaving to become the Town Administrator for Pinetops, where she served for two years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a law degree from North Carolina Central University.

“After having the pleasure of working with Natalie in our Disaster Recovery programs, and then seeing her lead the Town of Pinetops, I knew she would make a great addition to my executive team.”, said Eric Evans, County Manager. “She brings a unique skill set and experience base which is already making her an asset to our organization”.

“The Board is very pleased with our County Manager’s selection for Deputy County Manager”, stated Commissioner Leonard Wiggins, Chairman of the Board. “I look forward to working with her”.

Mrs. Bess lives in Tarboro with her husband Reggie Bess and their two sons, Reggie and Christopher. Mrs. Bess stated, “I am excited to be a part of the Edgecombe County leadership team, and I look forward to serving the great citizens of Edgecombe County”.
